I ACTUALLY did it!!

So first, some random bits and bobs!

^ This kid made me laugh! He was about 4 or 5 with a plaster on his forehead, fishing a skanky plastic bottle and coke can out of some dirty shallow canal type thing, transferring the water from one container to the other. When his Dad caught up with him, he wasn't too happy :D

And finally some good news! I haven't posted for a while as I have been busy at work, but also busy with some extra curricular activities!

It's been a very long and hard process, culminating in 2 days of tests in 2D traditional animation, Maya and After Effects, and an interview..... but I am happy to say that come September, I will have the chance to fulfill an ambition that I've had ever since I saw 'Pyrats' at Annecy 2006 - I will be doing the Animation 3rd year at an Art School in Paris you may have heard of, in the hope of improving my skills and to broaden my horizons for the future :D

(If you haven't been exposed to their work yet, the school is called, GOBELINS - l'école de l'image) :)

'Till the Next,
L

@Tim
Thanks Tim! It makes me happy to know that I've made people proud :)
By the way, at work I showed my reel to Antoine Antin and the Director, Thomas Digard (Les Lascars) and when my Drawing Inspiration stuff came up, they were like, "Oh you worked on this film!?" They both had seen it and thought it was good :D

@Frankie
lol I don't think I would have been ready ages ago! Even now, I still feel I gotta swat up before September! But thanks for the support - I'll keep posting for sure (I say that now.....!)
Yo, I told em 'Frankie says', and they were like, 'ok ok! If Frankie says...' :)

@Geoff
Thanks Geoff! I can't wait to see the results either :/ :D

@Nicola
Thanks for the comment! :)
2006 was the last year that the 3rd years did the Annecy Shorts I think... since then it has been the 2nd years. So as I'm going straight into 3rd year, I won't be doing an Annecy film, but that's not to say the final year film I work on can't be selected for the festival competition :)........errr
...Though maybe we should wait and see if I can make it through the year first!

@James
Cheers dude!

@Amy
Aww much appreciated :)
That makes two of us! Hopefully if I keep at, I can end up somewhere where they have free food..... the ultimate dream! ;)
